DPF Alternatives Houston is expanding and is looking for a service technician/delivery driver to join the team. This is a full time position with Monday through Friday working hours. DPF Alternatives offers industry leading cleaning techniques for all diesel engine aftertreatment system components but sets itself apart from the competition with ultra-sonic Diesel Particulate Filter cleaning and offering a warranty on their service. The technician/delivery driver is responsible for picking up filters and after treatment components from customers, bringing them back to the facility to be serviced, and delivering the clean/serviced components/filters back to those customers. DPF Alternatives offers a 24-hour turnaround time on filter cleaning. Organizational and communication skills are imperative to ensure there are no logistical problems and filters are returned to customers on time. The candidate is also responsible for gathering required information such as customer contact, vehicle information, etc., when picking up aftertreatment components or filters.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Driver:
- Pick up and deliver emissions components to customers using provided transportation.
- Collect customer, vehicle and component information using digital workflow tool.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and upkeep.
- Perform daily safety inspections on delivery vehicle.
- Work with outside sales representatives to assist in customer and sales efforts.
Service Technician:
- Collect customer, vehicle and component information using digital workflow tool for walk-in customers.
- Disassemble, inspect, and prepare components for service.
- Identify components needing repair or needing replacement instead of cleaning.
- Clean emissions components including but not limited to DPF, DOC and SCR.
- Operate cleaning and remanufacturing equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized shop.
- Perform cutting and welding of exhaust components when needed.
- Record all work using digital tool.
- Monitor inventory status and report low stock levels for purchasing.
General:
- Always represent DPF Alternatives to customers in professional, respectful, and ethical manner.
- Adhere to all Company standard procedures, policies and safety practices in the course of performing work activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Steel toe boots and proper PPE required.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Basic cutting/welding skills preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Comfortable using tablets and digital workflow systems.
- Self motivated and able to work independently.
- Professional demeanor and communication skills to represent the company well in front of customers and vendors.
Working Conditions:
- Must be physically able to spend portions of time standing, squatting, and lifting heavy parts as part of the technician role as well as sitting for stretches when driving to/from pick ups/drop offs.
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Daily travel within the Company’s geographical footprint is required.
